Also known as citron, juicy fruit that belongs to the family Rutaceae. It is native to India, Myanmar, and China. It is a good source of Ascorbic acid, citric acid, and flavonoids. γ-terpinene, terpinolene, d-limonene, pectin, and citral compounds are found in good amounts. Lemon peel is a power house of powerful antioxidants like vitamin C, D-limonene that provide protection against harmful free oxygen species. In take of lemon peel is good for the heart, gut, immune system, and oral health.
