Xylooligosaccharides are characterized by their composition of xylose units. They are often derived from plant sources such as fibrous materials, including certain parts of fruits, vegetables, and hardwoods. Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) are a type of oligosaccharide, which are carbohydrates composed of a relatively small number of simple sugars (monosaccharides). XOS consists of a short chain of xylose molecules linked together.
