Known alternately as Mexican Valerian or Pacific Valerian, this herb is a notable member of the Valerianaceae family and is esteemed for its potential medicinal properties. Originating in Europe and Asia, Valerian boasts a variety of bioactive components including valerenic acids, monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and iridoid glycosides.
