Saw Palmetto is also known as American Dwarf Palm Tree, Cabbage Palm, and Sabal belongs to the family Arecaceae. It is native to the southeast United States. Its major active components are beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, flavonoids, cycloartenol, lupeol, lupenone, resins, and tannins. It is also rich in vitamin A, carbohydrates, fatty acids, and volatile oils. It is a good source of antioxidants like Epicatechin and methyl gallate. Intake of Saw Palmetto is good for eyes, skin, respiratory system, urinary tracts, prostate health.
