Also known as China root, Fu ling, and Poria. Poria Cocos is a fungus of the family of polyporeaceae. It generally grows on the roots of the pine trees and features a potato-shaped formation. Its taste is bland and sweet and its texture is elastic and soft. It is considered to be a source of triterpenoid and pachymic acid.
