Also known as a Mentha balsamea, which belongs to the family of Lamiaceae. Peppermint is most fast-growing plant & is widely used as a flavoring agent as because menthol is the active ingredient. Peppermint contains many major components like menthol, menthyl acetate, menthofuran, menthone, 1.8-cineole, trans-carveol, D-limonene, yadegarinia ,4-terpineol, carvone, isomenthone, a-terpinene, piperitenone and oxide β-caryophyllene. It is a good source of antioxidants and reduce oxidative stress.
