Production & Sourcing

Poria Cocos, known as Fu Ling or Indian bread, is a mushroom predominantly found in East Asia, particularly China, Japan, and Korea. As a saprophytic fungus, it thrives by decomposing organic matter. Cultivation involves growing Poria Cocos on the roots of pine trees, where its mycelium forms a symbiotic relationship, obtaining nutrients from the tree.
During cultivation, dried mushrooms are placed on pine tree roots treated with a nutrient-rich solution. Mycelium then proliferates, spreading throughout the roots. Traditional methods like sunlight or low-temperature drying are used to harvest and dry the mushrooms.
Given its popularity, Poria Cocos cultivation has expanded to other countries including the United States, Canada, and New Zealand.
