Production & Sourcing

Ophiopogon, also known as Mondo Grass, is a perennial plant native to East Asia and India. It is primarily grown and harvested in China, Japan, and Korea, but can also be found in other parts of the world such as the United States and Europe.

Ophiopogon is typically cultivated with the use of organic farming methods, making it a sustainable and environmentally friendly crop. It is a hardy plant that can grow in a variety of soil types and requires minimal maintenance. Ophiopogon is usually propagated through division of the root system, which is done after the plant has flowered and produced seeds.

Harvesting of Ophiopogon usually takes place in late summer or early fall when the plant is at its peak potency. The roots are carefully dug up and washed before being dried and processed into various forms, such as powder or liquid extract.
