Onion belongs to the family Amaryllidaceae. It is native to southwestern Asia. The major bioactive components present in Onion root are allicin, quercetin, fisetin, diallyl disulfide, diallyl trisulphide, flavonoids, fructooligosaccharides, and thiosulfinates, dietary fiber. It also acts as a prebiotic that helps in the growth of gut microbiota. It also contains vitamins like vitamin B6, folate, Biotin, and C, and minerals like potassium, calcium, and iron. It is also rich in antioxidants that help to neutralize harmful free radicals. Intake of onion is good for the heart, bone, digestive tract, for muscle cells.

The nutrients present in Onion are carbohydrates, dietary fibre, protein,polyphenols, anthocyanin, quercetin, sulfides, polysulfides, thiosulfinates, allium, allyl disulfide, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, folates, thiamine, vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium, manganese and chromium.

We provide Organic Onion Powder with a moisture content of NMT 10%. The moisture content of the product facilitates the growth of microorganisms in the product, which in turn increases the risk of biological hazards. Moisture content NMT 10% in our product ensures better control of microbial growth and, in turn, increased shelf life.

Microbial parameters are very important to qualify any herbal product. To prevent and control biological hazards, we ensure that the microbial parameters in our products comply with the microbial limits as specified by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). We generally test total plate count (TPC), Yeast and mold, E. Coli & Salmonella in our products.

Irradiation leads to chemical reactions that alter the food and alter nutritional content, sensory qualities of the food, and even the chemical makeup. Hence, we do not accept Irradiated Organic Onion Powder to maintain the product's organic integrity.
