Product Use

Production & Sourcing

Nutmeg is primarily cultivated and produced in Indonesia, specifically on the islands of Banda, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. Other countries that produce nutmeg include India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Grenada. The harvesting of nutmeg is a labor-intensive process that involves picking the fruit from the tree and removing the outer fleshy layer to reveal the seed. The seeds are then dried in the sun for several weeks before they are ready for processing.
