Nettle is a herbaceous perennial plant, belongs to family Urticaceae. The leaves and stems are very hairy with non-stinging hairs, some subspecies also contain stinging hairs; also bear small greenish or brownish flowers. It contains alpha-linolenic acid and omega-3 acid. Carotenoids like xanthophyll, carotene, lutein and vitamins like ascorbic acid, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, tocopherols.
