This mushroom belongs to the family Grifolaceae and is native to China, North-eastern Japan, and North America. β-glucans, heteroglycans, proteins and glycoproteins are the major bioactive constituent found in the Maitake mushroom. It is also a good source of vitamin B, C, D, copper, potassium, fiber, minerals, and amino acids. It also contains potent antioxidants that reduce the oxidative stress in body. Intake of this mushroom is good for immune system, also have many health benefits.
