Product Use

Production & Sourcing

Figs are cultivated primarily in regions with Mediterranean climates but are also found in other temperate and subtropical regions worldwide. Production of figs begins with planting fig cuttings or young trees in well-drained soil with sufficient sunlight. These trees are typically drought-tolerant once established but benefit from regular watering and occasional fertilization to support healthy growth and fruit production.
Harvesting figs is a delicate process that depends on the variety and climate. Figs are typically harvested when fully ripe, which varies from late summer to early fall, depending on the region. The fruits are carefully hand-picked to avoid damaging their delicate skin and flesh. Post-harvest, figs are sorted to remove any damaged or overripe fruits and then packed for distribution to markets or processing facilities.
