Camu camu is a small bushy plant found in Peru and Brazil and is also called Cacari, Camocamo. It bears red or purple colored berry like fruit, they become maroon or purple-black when riped with either sweet or acidic flesh. This fruit has extraordinary amount of Vitamin C and also rich in flavanoids like anthocyanins, flavanols, catechin, ellagic acid, cyanidin, rutin, etc. Camu camu has been used in ice creams, sweets and its power is used as a health food. It is more likely because of its Vitamin C content.
