Also known as Cacari and Camocamo, Camu camu is a small bushy plant found in Peru and Brazil. It bears red or purple coloured berry like fruits that become maroon or purple-black when ripped and feature either sweet or acidic flesh. These fruits have a high content of Vitamin C and are also rich in flavanoids like anthocyanins, flavanols, catechin, ellagic acid, cyanidin, rutin, etc. It aslo cotain quite good amout of potent antioxidant. Camu camu has been used in ice creams, sweets and also health food. This fruit has many health benifits , consumption of this fruit is good for brain and gut health.
