Blackcurrant is a woody shrub that belongs to the family Grossulariaceae. It is most popular because of its berries. The berries are delicious and healthy for the body. This is native to temperate parts of northern and central Europe and northern Asia. Black currant fruits are rich sources of biologically active compounds like phenolic acids, quercetin, anthocyanins, myricetin, isorhamnetin, and proanthocyanidins. It is enormously filled with vitamin C and anti-oxidants.
