Melatonin is a compound naturally found in plant and animals, which primarily known as a hormone released by pineal gland in brain at night. Its molecular formula is C13H16N2O2. It acts as free radical scavenger, which promotes expression of antioxidant enzymes. It is used as a dietary supplement and in medications as well.
