Lemon balm is a perennial herbaceous plant of lamiaceae family also known as common balm, balm mint, etc. Its leaves have mild lemon scent. Its leaves are used in tea and also for flavour. Geraniol, neral, geranial, (E)-caryophyllene and citronellal adds flavour in lemon balm. It posses antimicrobial, antispasmodic properties. It also has been used as a sleeping and digestive aid.
