These are brown algae seaweed that belongs to the family Laminariales. It is native to South America and North America. The major active components in Kelp are phenolic compounds, mucopolysaccharides, algin, polar lipids, and glycosyl ester diglycerides. It is also rich in carbohydrates, proteins, and essential fatty acids, fiber. It is a powerhouse of potent antioxidants like flavonoids and carotenoids that help in stabilizing unstable oxygen species. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals like Vitamin K1, Folate, Vitamin A, Pantothenic acid, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium that provide good nutrition to our cells. It is good for gut health.
