Also known as linseeds, flax seeds belong to the family of Linaceae. Native to Egypt, these seeds are golden yellow to reddish-brown in colour. It contains linoleic acid, lignans, cyclic peptides, polysaccharides, alkaloids, cyanogenic glycosides, and cadmium. It is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and phytoestrogens hormone. It contains a high amount of insoluble Dietary fiber and nutrients.
