Also known as Milk-vetch, Huang, and Locoweed which belong to the family Fabaceae. It is native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Isoquercitrin, isorhamnetin-3-b-glucoside, ononin, calycosin, and formononetin are the major phytochemicals present in the Astragalus root. This root is a power pack of potent antioxidants like flavonoids that combat harmful free radicles and protect cells. Intake or application of this herb root is good for the immune system, liver, respiratory system, and heart health.
