Production & Sourcing

Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica), is a small, green fruit with a round shape and smooth skin. Native to India, amla is also cultivated in other Southeast Asian countries, including Nepal and Thailand. The typical harvest season for amla spans from October to December.

Amla production is predominantly carried out using organic farming methods, avoiding the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The trees thrive in well-draining soil and require full sun exposure. A mature amla tree is capable of producing up to 300 fruits per season.

The harvesting of amla fruit is a labor-intensive process, requiring careful handpicking to avoid damage to the tree. Post-harvest, the fruits undergo a cleaning, sorting, and grading process based on size, color, and quality. Following this, the fruits are processed into various forms suitable for different applications.

Amla is highly valued by food companies and herbal medicine manufacturers worldwide due to its numerous health benefits and culinary uses. It is primarily exported as fresh fruit, dried fruit, juice, and powder.

No, they are not the same. Loss on drying is determined by heating the sample below its melting point in an oven, and it includes all volatile matter, including water content and solvents, while water content is determined by the Karl Fischer titration method, and it consists of only water, i.e. moisture content.

We test total heavy metals, lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium in our products. These heavy metals by numerous studies are purported to be toxic for human consumption beyond certain limits and are known carcinogens. We also ensure that our product complies with California prop 65 regulations for lead content below 0.5 ppm levels.

We get our product tested on microbial parameters and heavy metal parameters, and when all fall within a suitable limit & safe for human consumption, we accept the product. The powder which we provide is safe for consumption.

Consumption of E.coli & Salmonella may pose serious health issues like stomach cramps, abdominal pains, nausea, etc. Hence, we do not provide any product containing E.coli or salmonella.
