Aloe Vera is a shrubby, perennial, xerophytic plant. It has pea-green color. It belongs to the Asphodelaceae family and native to North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Canary Islands. The main active components present in Aloe vera are vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids, and amino acids. It is rich in vitamin A, E, C. It also has a high amount of calcium, chromium, copper, selenium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, and zinc. It has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties because it is rich in auxins and gibberellin hormones. It is widely used in skincare products by cosmetic industries. It is popularly known for its moisturizing property.
