Native to North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Canary Islands, Aloe Vera is a pea-green, shrubby, perennial, xerophytic plant, belonging to the Asphodelaceae family. The main active components present in Aloe Vera are vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids, and amino acids. Rich in vitamin A, E, & C, Aloe Vera also contains a high amount of calcium, chromium, copper, selenium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, and zinc. Rich in auxins and gibberellin hormones, it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Known for its moisturizing properties, Aloe Vera is used widely in various skincare products.
