Acai berry produced from the acai palm tree. It belongs to the Arecaceae family. Acai berries are small fruits, reddish-purple in color. It is native to Central and South America. It is also called a Brazilian superfood because it is rich in antioxidants. Anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins are two active components in acai berry. It is rich in fatty acids, especially oleic, palmitic, and linoleic acids but low in sugar.
