Rhodiola rosea is also known as roseroot, golden rooot. Its leaves and shoots are eaten raw in salads. Rhodiola roots contain phenols, rosavin, rosarin, rosin, organic acids, phenolic acids, terpenoids and their derivatives flavonoids, alkaloids, salidroside, tyrosol, etc. This plant has been used in traditional Chinese medicine.
