Peppermint is a fast growing, herbaceous, rhizomatous, perennial plant with smooth stems. It has high menthol content. It also contains terpenoids, and flavonoids like hesperidine. Fresh and dried peppermint is used for culinary purposes, including herbal tea. Peppermint leaves has cooling effect and has many medicinal properties.
