Passionflower is also known as Passiflora or Passion vines of the Passifloraceae family. The flowers are pentamerous and bear numerous fruits when ripened. It mainly contains beta-carboline harmala alkaloids. Compounds like coumarin, phytosterol, flavanoid, glycosides are also found in this. Organic acids like formic, linolenic linoleic acids and phenolic compounds, esters, sugar, and different enzymes are found in Passionflower.
