The Cocoa beans belong to the family Malvaceae. This plant is native to tropical regions of Central and South America. The primary active component of this bean is theobromine which is responsible for the bitter taste of the Cocoa. Catechin, epicatechin, and procyanidins are the potent antioxidants present in Cocoa beans that play a great role in reducing the harmful effect of free radicles that can damage healthy cells. These beans are a good source of essential vitamins like vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, C, E, and pantothenic acid and minerals like calcium, copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc, so intake of these beans either in raw or in any other foods add a great nutritional value. Consumption of this fruit is good for the heart, brain, teeth, and skin.

The other names of Cocoa are Cocoa bean, Cacao bean and Cacao.

Cocoa Powder is made from roasted Cacao beans processed at high temperature and Cocoa are the fermented Cacao beans while Cacao Powder is made from raw Cacao beans processed at low temperature.

The phytochemicals present in Cocoa are flavanols, flavonoids, quercetin, epicatechin, procyanidins, theobromine and caffeine. The minerals like magnesium, iron, phosphorous, potassium and zinc also present in Cocoa.

Irradiation leads to chemical reactions that alter the food and alter nutritional content, sensory qualities of the food, and even the chemical balance. Hence, we do not accept Irradiated Organic Cocoa Powder to maintain the product's organic integrity.

Microbial parameters are very important to qualify any herbal product. To prevent and control biological hazards, we ensure that the microbial parameters in our products comply with the microbial limits as specified by the United State Pharmacopeia (USP). We generally test total plate count (TPC), Yeast and mold, E. Coli & Salmonella in our products.

We can provide Organic Cocoa Powder of different mesh size but here the mesh size we provide is passes through #40 mesh.

We test total heavy metals, lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium in our products. These heavy metals by numerous studies are purported to be toxic for human consumption beyond certain limits and are known carcinogens. We also ensure that our product complies with California prop 65 regulations for lead content below 0.5 ppm levels.
