Celery is a biennial marshland plant, belonging to the family of Apiaceae. It is native to Greek, China, and Rome. Alkaloids, Coumarins, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Limonene, Myrcene, Phenols, Phthalides, and Steroids are the major bioactive compounds found in these seeds. These small seeds are rich in essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, magnesium, and iron. Polyphenol-like potent antioxidants are present in quite a good amount that combat oxidative stress. These seeds are well known for their medicinal and culinary uses.
