Also known as Luo han guo which belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae. It is native to China and Thailand. This fruit is popularly known for the mogroside called mogroside V, that responsible for the sweetness of the fruit. Mogroside is also a potent antioxidant that combats the cells against free radicles. It is a good source of vitamins and minerals. It can be taken in place of sugar. This fruit is also known as Zero calorie sugar. Intake of this fruit is good for the heart and other parts of the body.
