Product Use

Production & Sourcing

Black cohosh, a plant native to North America, is primarily cultivated for its roots, which are valued for their use in various applications. The production process begins with the careful cultivation of black cohosh plants in shaded, forested areas that mimic their natural habitat. These plants require well-drained, moist soil and typically take several years to mature. Harvesting usually occurs in the late summer or early autumn when the roots have accumulated their highest levels of bioactive compounds. The roots are carefully dug up by hand to avoid damage, cleaned to remove soil and impurities, and then dried to preserve their quality.
