Bamboo is a long herbaceous perrinial plant that belongs to the family Poaceae and subfamily Bambusoideae. It is native to Asia, islands of the Pacific oceans, and the Indian ocean. The active components in Bamboo are flavonoids, alkaloids, amino acids, and polysaccharides. Hemicellulose, Cellulose, and lignin are the major polysaccharides present in Bamboo and that contribute 90% of the total mass. Bamboo has many medicinal properties, so from early years it is used as herbal medicine. In some regions bamboo shoots also used as traditional food.
