Bacillus subtilis is one of the spores creating and Gram-positive bacterium. It is found in the gastrointestinal tract of humans, cattle, sheep, and goats as well as in soil. The bacterium can survive harsh environments while its spores can last up to six years if protected well. Biotechnological companies use it widely for enzyme production, GMOs and pharmaceutical components. Bacillus subtilis is believed to be beneficial for GI tract, skin, and dental health.
