It is also known as Rose haw and Rose hep that belongs to the family Rosaceae. Native to Asia, North America. Phenolics, polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, carotenoids are the major active components present in rosehip. Hyperoside, tiliroside, rutin, quercetin, catechin, astragali-like flavonoids present in Rosehip. It is a good source of antioxidants that help in stabilizing the unstabilized free radicles. Vitamin C and vitamin E are present in a good amount in this fruit. Rosehip is very nutritious because it is rich in minerals and vitamins. It has several uses in the food and dietary industry. Consumption of this fruit is good for heart health.
