Also known as Lingzhi belongs to the family Ganodermataceae. It is a polypore fungus. Triterpenoids, alkaloids, steroids, and lactones are the major active components present in this mushroom. This mushroom also contains polysaccharides, peptidoglycans, proteins, fatty acids, and sterols in a good amount. It is a good source of vitamins A, B, C, D, K, and minerals like Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Copper, Iron, and Phosphorus. This mushroom is also rich in antioxidants that provide protection against free radicles. Intake of this mushroom is good for the heart, immune system, and respiratory system.
