It is also known as bitterwort, blow-ball, cankerwort, clockflower. It has branched tap root system. It is herbaceous, perennial plant, belongs to the family Asteraceae. It is resident to Eurasia and North America. The active components of dandelion leaves are chicoric acid, taraxasterol, chlorogenic acid, and sesquiterpene lactones and rich in antioxidants. It also contains potassium and calcium, phosphorus. It may help in weight loss and blood sugar control.
