Commonly known as caterpillar fungus and native to China, Ophiocordyceps sinensis belongs to the family of Ophiocordycipitaceae. It is rich in Cordycepin, cordycepic acid, adenosine, exo-polysaccharides, vitamin, and essential amino acids. Cordyceps mushroom is a good source of potent antioxidants and features anti-lipid peroxidation. Consumption of this mushroom is known to support the immune system.
