L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid. It is a nonpolar aromatic amino acid. It plays a major role in sysnthesis of melatonin and serotonin. Melatonin and serotonin are two important hormones in our body that regulate mood. It can be extracted from Milk, Canned Tuna, Turkey and Chicken, Oats, Cheese, Nuts, and Seeds. The concentration of tryptophan is very low compared to other amino acids but it requires several functions. It plays a major role in protein synthesis and also needed for other functions.
