L-Tryptophan is an essential nonpolar aromatic amino acid. It plays a major role in the synthesis of melatonin and serotonin, the two important hormones in our body that regulate the mood. It can be extracted from Milk, Canned Tuna, Turkey, Chicken, Oats, Cheese, Nuts, and Seeds. The concentration of tryptophan in the body is very low compared to other amino acids, but it caters to several important functions. It plays a major role in protein synthesis and also needed for other essential functions in the body.
