Also known as Japanese arrowroot or Chinese arrowroot that belongs to the family Fabaceae. This plant is native to Japan and southeast China. Puerarin, daidzin, and daidzein are the major bioactive components present in this root. It is a well-known ayurvedic medicine. It is a good source of potent antioxidants like isoflavone puerarin that neutralize the effect of oxidative stress and have many health benefits.
