Kudzu is a perennial vine, belonging to the fabacean family. Also known as Japanese arrowroot or Chinese arrowroot, it contains isoflavones like puerarin, mirificin, salvianolic acid etc. It is known to have a number of therapeutic properties. In Japan, it is used to make herbal drink, whereas in China it is used as a traditional medicine.
