Cassia cinnamon is also known as Chinese cassia or Chinese cinnamon belongs to the family Lauraceae. It is used as a spice made from the inner bark of this plant and is well known for its aromatic flavor. It is native to South China, and South Asia. Cinnamon aldehyde, cinnamic alcohol, cinnamic acid, and cinnamate are the major bioactive components present in the inner bark of cinnamon. It is loaded with powerful antioxidants like polyphenols that neutralize harmful free radicals. Intake of this cinnamon is good for the brain, and heart health.
