Ashwagandha is also known as Indian ginseng, poison gooseberry, or winter cherry. It is a small plant that produces yellow flowers that belongs to the family Solanaceae. It is native to India and North Africa. The major active components of Ashwangndha are withanolides, withaferins, saponins. It also contains isopelletierine, anaferine, cuseohygrine, anahygrine, and sitoindosides, acylsterylglucosides, . It is rich in antioxidants. It has many health benefits so it is widely used in ayurvedic and herbal health care products.
